About

Dr. Guan Q. Ellerbe

PsyD, LMHC, LADC I, LSW · Organizational Leadership Psychologist · Also known as Dr. Gee

Dr. Guan Q. Ellerbe works at the intersection of two things that rarely sit at the same table: clinical mental health treatment and organizational leadership.

She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Licensed Social Worker, trained in marriage and family therapy, and a MaMHCA Advanced Certified Clinical Supervisor. She founded and leads Leading Light Behavioral Health, where she still carries clinical responsibility and supervises the clinicians who do the work.

She has taught at the graduate level in Curry College's MSMFT program and at Lesley University, which is where the translation skill comes from — the ability to take a dense clinical concept and make a room of non-clinicians actually use it.

She is the author of nine books spanning clinical practice, workplace trauma, leadership, career design, and relationships. She hosts The Rey Royale Experience on Urban Heat 98.1 FM through iHeartRadio.

Her position is simple and not especially popular: most workplace mental health problems are organizational design problems. Resilience training aimed at individuals is a way of asking the people absorbing the damage to absorb a little more. She would rather help you fix the conditions.

She is based in Brockton, Massachusetts, and travels for engagements.
